So I wasn't a stranger to the company. 438300[/snapback] awesome. my dad's connections don't get me in with nasa 438425[/snapback] lol, well I live 20-30 minutes from Kennedy Space Center...most of this county somehow revolves around the space program....my dad used to be a safety engineer on the shuttle...and then has done other stuff with NASA and companies who do stuff for NASA (Lockheed Martin, USA, etc.). But seriously, NASA has a lot of useless stuff goin on out there...fortunately, I feel I'm at least doing something where there is a real need (occupational health is a need out there). The company I'm working for also does a lot of environmental work...making sure that NASA isn't destroying the environment (it is on the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge). And truthfully, they've done very little to hurt the environment there. It's actually pretty cool.
July 3, 200422 yr Did your Dad get to go in the shuttle in everything? That's friggin' sweet. I loved Cape Canaveral when I went there. If I can be anything automatically, I would choose to be an astronaut over even a great ballplayer. You're like a ball boy, at least you are close to the action! Man, I wish I was a ball boy.

I dont remember any of this...it was when i was really young...but he's always done a lot of stuff revolving around out there.

July 4, 200422 yr My weekend..... I'll be at the Marlins game with Max and my parents. After the game, they're having the fire works display. Sunday, I'll be at my best friend's house with Max for a BBQ/pool party and then fire works at the Miami Springs golf course. Monday, I am off. July 4, 200422 yr well, regardless of if my dad worked at NASA or anything, we can see launches from our house. I live in Merritt Island. The Kennedy Space Center is at the very northern part of the Island...I can step outside and see em go off.... obviously there won't be any launches in my time working there...although I think the Delta is getting ready to be launched sometime...who knows, I'm kinda out of the loop. Along time ago I fell into the hole of being apathetic about launches. I didn't realize how cool it really was to be able to see em from my house till I went to South Carolina and people were amazed.
July 4, 200422 yr Yeah, it is easy to take things for granted. My ex stepfather owned a driving range and minature golf course, and now I kick myself everytime I want to play golf because I used to be able to play as many times as I want for free.

July 4, 200422 yr My weekend pretty much sucked.Except for this cool little PS2 controller I bought that had neon lights all around the inside of it.And when I went to see the fireworks I saw a boy and a girl cus each other out and get into a fight.Then a bigger dude agged it on and got arrested,other than that It was boring.
July 5, 200422 yr saturday at the Jerry Daze 2004 was pretty fun...then went to a girl's house where there were people...till about 2. Umm, yesterday, I took it easy. Didn't do too much. Plan on goin to the beach in a little bit, then out on the boat the rest of the day.
