We are too predictable

Featured Replies

They need to change the way they play. Reinvent themselves because the other teams have caught on to our game and we must adapt to stay alive. This has gotten to the point where I can't expect a win.

The problem is we have become so predictable and so easy to scout that the other teams can use the same scouting report from series to series.

We always ground out to the shortstop it seems halfway between second and third, we always pop out to shallow CF, our pitchers aren't thinking of new ways to get hitters out, and our defense is getting poked because the other teams abuse the holes.

We need to do something major, not with the players, but with the coaches.

1) Fire Bill Robinson....he is the problem.

2) Get another starter and some more bullpen guys.

3) Bench Alex Gonzalez, his defense isn't worth the 3 outs a night he gives us.

well it's baseball. you can't just make a gameplan or change your strategy. baseball is baseball. it's not football or basketball for a reason.

bench a.gonz, steal edgar from stl!

no, but you must adapt as a team to beat others and keep them at the edge of their game. We have the talent....the coaches need to get the most out of it.

reinvent what?

how do you suggest we do this?

Steroids

frankly, i wouldnt mind if we gave all of em steroids. theres virtually no penalty for the first offense and we'd only need em for the next 3-4 months.

good thinking...

Change the way we hit the ball and we pitch. We need to start taking control of the counts at the plate and getting those bloop hits. We aren't getting them and need to work on it. JP got a triple today shopping at the gap he usually doesn't hit to in RF.

thats so much fluff.

so many people on this board have been talking about all this fluff about "playing better" and crap.

its nonsense... these players arent good enough.

at the absolute least, we need another bat. i think we could use another hitting coach, too.

usually one gets a bloop hit when they are jammed by a good pitch

take control of the counts?.... and what happens when the pitcher throws 2 straight strikes?

and JP probably got that triple because he guessed right

whoopty freakin doo....

I don't think they plan hitting ground outs and being 0-2 on almost each AB.

Something needs to change soon.

btw, Cabrera must stop playing Right Field now. I don't care if that means putting WTFNunez on Right and Conine on the bench. He is not a happy camper over there, and I think he is taking his Defensive problems to the plate.

Conine should we willing to play Right at this point, there is no other solution at the moment.

agreed, conine can play rf.

no... we have to put our only strong outfield arm in RF.

at this point i'm not convinced cabs would be playing LF much better than he's playing RF right now... but at least we have his arm there.

on deep balls, niner would just be giving up runs automatically a la JP if he were in RF. defensively, he's good where he is right now--in LF.

I say we try Cabs at SS, bench Sea Bass and platoon Easley/Nu?ez/Cordero in RF until we start to win.

Cabs has cost us at least 2 games and 10+ runs in RF.

How many assist? maybe 2 or 3 and saved some bases

439063

that can't be accurate.

when i was down there, he threw someone out at home and someone out at 2nd.

so that's 2 right there. i'm sure he has more than that this season.

439063

right, but do you honestly think he'd do much better in LF? his problem this season has been mobility and getting to balls... i really dont think he wouldve done a whole lot better in left this year.

he's got 6 so far.

kc is dumb, they'll deal away angel berroa! :)

i'd take him at SS.

yea, sure thing
