July 6, 200422 yr Spooneybarger throws: Tim Spooneybarger threw off flat ground on Monday and is on course to throw off the mound in a few weeks, pitching coach Wayne Rosenthal said. Recovering from Tommy John surgery performed last September, Spooneybarger is hopeful of returning in September. While Rosenthal says that is possible, the team isn't expecting the injured right-hander any time soon. "I wouldn't be shocked," Rosenthal said of a September return before adding, "but I don't think we'd push him that hard."
July 6, 200422 yr cool, it sure would be nice to have him back, but I would be very cautious if I were the marlins.
