July 19, 200422 yr and I don't think I once heard any of the announcers mention anything about the Marlins having interest in him. I watch on MLB.TV and I didn't hear the Pirates announcers say anything or the Marlins announcers say anything on Saturday. Was this just a baseless ESPN rumor or is there any substance to it?

July 19, 200422 yr Why would we pay 10 million dollars a year for a catcher that is half the player of a catcher playing for the Marlins last year and was asking for 10 million dollars a year. HMMMMM.

July 19, 200422 yr Ignoring the obvious problem with his contract $$$, Pittsburgh isn't about to trade away Kendall while they are winning and perhaps more importantly starting to draw fans again. Not to be a broken record regarding Javy Lopez (really used for example purposes only in this case) but the Orioles continue to fall further and further back every day and you're a ML team looking for a catcher - and I'm not just talking about the Fish, I'm talking about ANY ML team - Baltimore would be the first place to try and solicit a trade, especially if you're deep in ML starting pitching. Losing Lopez wouldn't affect attendance in Baltimore (especially if they got pitching for him) the way shipping Kendall out would in Pittsburgh.
