July 22, 200422 yr 1. Trade for Brian Schneider (catcher, let handed batter, 50% throwing out runners), Nick Johnson (1st base will swing bat rather than look for walk), Luis Ayala (bullpen), Rocky Biddle(We have to assume som money). Give Montreal Josh Willingham (nice bat but not very good defensively), Choi (take over for Johnson), Bump or Wayne (doesn't matter which), plus one of our young minor league pitchers. This trade would solve our defensive problems behind plate plus add offensive punch and help bullpen. 2. Trade for either D Bautista or S. Finley put them in rigth field and move Cabrera to left field. Give Arizona one of our young minor league players. This trade will add offensive punch and help the outfield defense. The FO has really dragged their feet on fixing some of the glaring problems with the Marlins. We have lost too many games that we should have won if some of the above listed weaknesses had been addressed. This team as it stands right now is not good enough to compete for the NL eastern division crown. It is up to management to step up and help this team have a fighting chance to defend their tittle.
July 22, 200422 yr Author Marlins2003, I don't care how they get this kind of deal with Montreal done but it can be done. Maybe you can put your two cents and tell us what you would do to help the Marlins solve their problems. 1. Offense 2. Catcher defense (please don't tell me that B mayne is our answer)
July 22, 200422 yr On offense, the answer is definatly not Nick Johnson. I'd rather have Choi walk than Johnson strike out. :thumbdown At catcher, Kendall or Greg Zaun would help.
July 22, 200422 yr Author Choitotheworld, I can see you are head over heals over Choi but when you wakeup from dream land you will see that Johnson is a better hitter than Choi specially with runners on base. Kendall would be a great addition but will not happen because of $$$$$$ Zaun are you kidding me, if you consider this guy a good defensive catcher than you should definitely seek out help!!!!!
