July 25, 200422 yr Over 50% of people who get married get divorced. Why? If you get married that means you love the person...why does that change with so many people? Comments alloud.
July 25, 200422 yr That's very naive to think people only get married for love. Even if they do.. things change, people change.
July 25, 200422 yr Author They don't just get married FOR love... they get married because they LOVE each other.... And yet so many people get divorced.
July 25, 200422 yr sometimes people get married for the wrong reasons or arent just ready for marriage. also people and situations change as time goes by and sometimes couples cant (or dont want to) handle all the changes that occur and just want an easy way out. at least thats what i think.
July 25, 200422 yr Author That sounds good...but over 50%? Thats way too much... People need to wake up...
July 25, 200422 yr They don't just get married FOR love... they get married because they LOVE each other.... And yet so many people get divorced. 475424 Same thing. Not every couple gets married because they love each other. Love doesn't last anyway
July 25, 200422 yr Author Well it takes a while before people meet and before they get married...so they must be in love for a while. And than they get married and than divorced. So the love does last long. But it ends...

July 25, 200422 yr dude your like a 10 year old asking these questions. look life is complicated. its not always about love and sometimes people dont know what love really is. also couples that love each other are sometimes forced apart for different reasons because one hurt the other or someother reason. things happen. people make mistakes, people change and sometimes the couple's bond isnt strong enough to handle it and a lot times people just want an easy way out.
July 25, 200422 yr it truly is a shame that divorce rates are so high... besides people getting married out of convenience, pregnancy, pressure to, on a whim, etc., I think many marriages are a consequence of people not being able to work out problems. I think many people get married too soon, but I also think many marriages fail (not neccesarily because, but contributed to) due to finance problems, job problems, etc. I think they can't work out their problems how they want to, it begins a downward spiral. It really is a shame.
July 25, 200422 yr Author It may not take a LONG time but it does take SOME time... And its a shame that people shouldnt love each other when they love each other for even that amount of time... you know...you get engaged before also...so it takes time...etc.
July 25, 200422 yr Author marlins02:im 15 not 10 and if poeple are in love they should try hard to work out their problems no matter what.

And its a shame that people shouldnt love each other when they love each other for even that amount of time... you know...you get engaged before also...so it takes time...etc. 475466 Um, I could get married to someone right this second. You don't have to be engaged, you don't have to wait besides getting the marriage certificate. It's a shame, but that's life. It's funny now that people date more and generally, marry older than they used to, but get divorced more often. You'd think with all the time we get to find a partner, when we choose one, it'd be the right one. I think it just makes us all the more picky and intolerant.
July 25, 200422 yr i understand what you're saying Marlins....but many people marry and are not in love....so much goes through people's minds when they are in "love" and don't really know....and not all love is "agape" love (unconditional)...marriages should be based on unconditional love, but they don't always end up that way/.
July 25, 200422 yr fishy, i think people when they get older, feel pressured to hurry up and marry and settle down...especially women...they feel if theyre thirty, then need to be married, when in actuality, everyone is different.
July 25, 200422 yr Author yeah people just like the feeling of being married sometimes... so they rush into it.

Not just people who settle.
July 25, 200422 yr oh...yah that is interesting. Maybe there seems to be more temptations/pressures in today's marriages...I really have no clue, and am kinda talkin out of my ass right now
July 25, 200422 yr Author people need to know what they are getting into when they get married they need to know they are going to work through some problems....etc. they need to get married for more reasons...
July 25, 200422 yr Over 50% of people who get married get divorced. 475418 2 corrections: 1. over 50% of marriages end in divorce, not "over 50% of people who get married ..." that statistic is flawed because of chronic divorcees. 2. over 50% of marriages in the united states end in divorce.
July 25, 200422 yr Author like not just because of looks... for personality...etc. you gotta really know the person well before you get married.
