Get Real. 486117[/snapback] Mr. Know-it-all, if you were there and you watched the team before the game started or in the first inning (before the Expos scored) or you bothered to actually read the posts of people who go to games, you realize the malaise, the depression was evident from the moment the game started. To ignore that players have emotional attachments to their comrades, regardless of their pay, regardless of their stature, suggests you've never played or have zero understanding of teamsports or have an ounce of empathy in your body. What Beckett did was predictable and the right thing to do, not for the reason you suggest but because monuments in the lockeroom to dead soldiers are the worst thing you can have. I'm sure Jack was very pleased that Josh stood up and did it as quickly as he did. Anyone who's spent any time in a lockeroom environment knows how important a statement it was.

July 31, 200422 yr ive been in the situation were your best friends on the team got traded and yea it sucks but you still have a job to do...of course its a distraction but u have to try to put it aside the moment the ump calls playball...choi i can live without am sure he's going to become a good player but i never really became a fan...Penny am going to miss like crazy,this guy has been here for a while and he is my favorite Marlin SP..i wish him well and i know he will win 15-20 games many times in his career...Penny you will be missed..

The team lost a teammate, it's sad and all, but they are professionals. The Dodgers had just lost a team leader in Lo Duca and they went out and won. The bottom line is I don't remember the last time they have ever hit Livan. For what ever reason, its a bad match up for the Marlins. When they got down 2-0 after the 1st, you knew it would be a long night against Hernandez.
