Iv'e seen a lot of times 2 gas stations right next to each other and one is cheaper than he other and yet the one that is more expensive still gets people to come get gas there...so I was wondering why..

 

I came up with 2 reasons:

 

1-better food at the store

2-people are just dumb

I always wondered that too! I will never know the answer

Well I think its because they have better things inside the store...and poeple are just lazy to get food in one store and gas in the other...

People might have a credit card for one gas station and not the other which allows them to reach benefits if they spend some amount of dollars at the station. My step-dad has one for Texaco.

first of all, it has nothing to do with food. every gas station basically sells the same damn food. it's just that there's a lot of crowded intersections and such and it's a lot easier if you're driving in one lane to have a gas station on that side and not have to cross through the intersection. first i thought it was a bad idea too but obviously they're all making good business, it makes sense.

If gas is 2 cents higher at another gas station...and you fill up 20 gallons...you're losing 40 cents. Big deal.

Some people also get better gas mileage with shell while a place like sheetz they get really bad even though the price is generally lower

yeah but a lot of times they are literally RIGHT next to each other...not across the intersection...

I was JUST wondering...

That's like asking why would a BK and a McDonald's ever be next to each other. McDonald's could be cheaper, but more often than not I'm still going to BK.
