August 24, 200421 yr with Chavez's victory in venezuela, the left has once again strengthened its position in latin america. As of now Chavez, Castro, and da Silva are in power, with both chavez and castro contributing heavily to a campaign by morales in bolivia. This is not looking good for the World in general, because it will create further polarization and prevent free trade from coming to light. And as we all kno free trade is the best way to achieve world peace.
August 25, 200421 yr Yeah free trade is a good thing but not at the moment, for the Latin American countries. Actually it would be very devastating to most Latin American countries.

If anything the best argument one has it how it can possibly affect the U.S. positively.
August 26, 200421 yr Author Don't forget Lula in Brazil 527014 da silva is lula's last name (or first name the brazilian nomenclature confuses me)
August 26, 200421 yr Author That's right, slipped my mind. There's a couple more in South America. 527022 Yea defintely im leaving out the fact also that the legislature in nicaragua is still run by the sandinistas
August 26, 200421 yr A free trade agreement will only destroy most Latin American countries economy. Small businesses will be totally wiped out by the huge competition of large corporations. (textiles, parts, etc.)
August 30, 200421 yr I heard that the populist party is favored to win the next elections in Mexico too!
