Is it legal to make bootleg envelopes?

Featured Replies

I got a $400 check that I need to mail to my mommii. I have a bunch of paper and a stamp, but I lack an envelope. Can I ghetto rig some pieces of paper together and mail it off with a stamp like it's a proper envelope?

I received a stack of baseball cards I had got on eBay and the guy put them in a bootleg envelope.

Sweet.

Would you really want to trust an important check in a bootleg envelope though?

Do you know how thuggish I am? People will see the return address and know not to mess with my mail.

Proof of my thuggishness is in my profile.

yes, and there's no such thing as a "bootleg" envelope.

as long as it aint too big or too small, you can mail it in anything with standard postage...if you want to know the limits for height and width, go to www.usps.gov.
