October 21, 200422 yr MAYBE one day. but i'm not sure. you would think they would have to get over the seat configurations problem. instead of the crappy concrete stuff the built in the 60's and 70's they could add a modern or retro feel to a park. but there are many other problems this brings up.
October 22, 200422 yr People don't want to admit it....but all the new ballparks could serve as football stadiums easily just like the classics did.

It's a hell of a lot better than Turner Field, I can tell you that much. I don't see what's wrong with multi-purpose stadiums. It makes a lot more sense than single-purpose stadiums, when you're talking about the public financing it. I don't see why UM and the Marlins couldn't have come to an agreement on a multi-purpose stadium and did some sort of cost-sharing to get 'er done. The thing probably would be nearing completion by now.
October 29, 200422 yr That was my hope, too, FF. Anyone know why the multi-purpose stadium or the conjoined stadium died? I remember the Marlins objecting to pay 70% of the private contribution for a lease no better than what they had now. I just don't know why those ideas didn't go any farther? This new deal gives greater flexibility to all but at a much higher price.
