July 6, 200322 yr McKeon, who is still searching for a right-handed set-up man to stabilize his bullpen in Tim Spooneybarger's absence, is ready to turn to rookie Nate Bump. ''I like this kid,'' McKeon said. ``I'd like to see what he can do. We're going to find out.'' Bump, who has pitched just four innings in the majors, said he's ready for the challenge. ''I'm confident,'' said Bump, who pitched two-thirds of an inning Saturday against the Phillies, lowering his ERA to 4.50. ``I'm not worried, really, about going out and failing. I'm just going to go in there and try to throw strikes, let my two-seamer do what it can do.'' ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- aight, im not sayin he aint good cuz i didnt leave the house, till i finished watching this game and when he came in the 8th i was like "damn" he was firing f***ing Darts... Strike after STrike i was like "yessssss this is it, our new SET UP MAN" Problem is he is a rookie.... I feel as if Tommy Pheips should be the set up man, i dunno where to stand at on this issue, i know i should have more confidence cuz look at what K.Rod did last year with the angles... Loria and LB said before the season, that if we are contending by the All Star break he would make a trade and get a bat or another pitcher...... well its time to PUT Ya money where ya mouth is...... 4 back the wild card and as i speak I.rod just Doubled and scored Louie in..... im listening to the game on QAM no cabel lol..... anywayz we need a SET UP MAN got to get somebody..... by the way, as you all know Mike Tejera and Almanza have both got to be sent down or ethier traded Manza doesnt make much so it dont mater Tejera i think makes a Mil... July 6, 200322 yr Author na man, hell na,...... The Marlins have been without setup man Tim Spooneybarger for almost a month. Manager Jack McKeon hasn't speculated how much longer Spooneybarger will remain sidelined with a sprained elbow ligament. nobody knows how long he will be gone 4... could be sometime im thinking Mid August or the start of Football season... Thats why i feel we have to go and get a set up man, im still looking 4 Mike Dejean of the Brewers

July 6, 200322 yr I think Bump is going to have a tuff time being the set up man. I think we should put phelps in that spot. Well lets see if Bump does well and maybe He cna be the set up man we have been looking for after Spooney got injured.
