December 5, 200421 yr At this point I just think Pavano is living the experience of being one of baseball's elite. He's letting all the teams wine and dine him... Hell, I'd do the same thing. If anybody here has ever seen the movie "Johnny be Good," they know what I'm talking about. I think Carl knows where he is going to sign, he's just living life and waiting for the bidding war to start so his price goes up.

Can't blame a guy for taking advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
December 5, 200421 yr Give the tigers Pavano and I say they make the playoffs! 627246[/snapback] Actually, I don't think that's too farfetched.
December 5, 200421 yr Anyone remember in August and Septiembre when Pavano talked about loyalty and his comfort down here. I don't blame him like I blame Pudge but I thought we were going to be able to get him back for a while.
December 5, 200421 yr This is a different situation than Pudge. Pudge majorly trashed the FO when he left. Pudge had nobody courting him while we talked with him, and only one team after. Pavs has the world after him. Pudge is at the twilight of his career, Pavs might be just entering his prime. Pudge was falling at a quickly-aging position, Pavs just blew up at a front line position. The only thing the two have similar is that the name they are each commonly referred to by starts with the letter P.
