December 10, 200421 yr Why is it in Wayne's best interests to get rid of the Marlins, and lose a Tenant, as opposed to cutting a better deal? Sorry for such a boring, redundant question... but it's Winter. And I have posed this simple question elsewhere, to no avail. I understand why the Marlins want their own stadium. But, I "forgot" why Wayne wants them out.
December 10, 200421 yr I've posted several things on this subject over the years. If you feel so inclined you might search the archives for the following words and phrases - sport entertainment dollars, Huizenga Holdings, NFL.

I'll certainly spend my weekend resourcing the archives. My posted question was simple. Guess I should know better.
December 10, 200421 yr So Olindo Mare can stop blaming the infield for the reason he sucks at kicking.
December 10, 200421 yr I honestly don't think Loria and Wayne are going to be able to see eye to eye on what a new, fairer lease would be. The Marlins just can't be paying money to someone else to survive, Wayne knows this, so he's milking them for all he can before doing his best to run them out of town so his beloved Dolphins don't have any competition.
December 10, 200421 yr Ten minutes of your time would answered a number of your questions but I realize you're much too busy for that. The issues are numerous and complicated from the NFL's war with MLB and their desire to 100% control stadium use, to capturing and controlling sports entertainment dollars and making it impossible for another startup football league to enter the market. Then there's WH stated belief that baseball won't work in SF and his desire to be able to say he told us so. When you compound that with the economics of running a stadium virtually year round versus seasonally and his fear of being stripped of tax rebate dollars I thought it would be easier for you read things written in detail rather than a bried summary, my alas, I was wrong.
