I doubt this will go over well, especially since he had a horrendous season in 2004 but one player I'd like to see the Fish consider is Byung-Hyun Kim.

 

The Red Sox are so desperate to jettison him they tried to sell him to a team in Japan. Now they want to move him to the Pirates. But anyone who saw him pitch in 2003 and before knw what he can do. When he's on, slinging that submarine stuff, he's unhittable.

 

In the past he has started and not too long ago was one of the premier relievers in baseball and I keep thinking that perhaps with a new pitching coach the Marlins can get him back to where he was in 2003. If the deal was right (the Red Sox picking up a big chunk of his remaining salary, which they seem willing to do in their talked about trade to the Pirates) he's another veteran that might have value to the Fish.

 

There's not a question in my mind that many will disagree so if you want to be my guest. I just have a hunch the Fish might be interested.

The Marlins did pretty good with Chad Fox and Armando, so they should try Kim. :thumbup

If they took a chunck of his salary, it would be great. Bolster the pen that much more with another veteran. I think the situation in Boston just reached a rough point with him too. Plus nothing like Pro Player to get a guy back in gear.

Kim blows. He can't be counted on, especially if the team that has him plans on any sort of post-season plans.

No way Kim is horrible. Unless we didnt give up anything or pay for him, then he isnt worth a spot on the roster
