December 28, 200421 yr Why the hell is it always a joint, or he's dropping it? It's always "A new Spike Lee Joint", can't it just be called a project?
December 28, 200421 yr Author Why the hell is it always a joint, or he's dropping it? It's always "A new Spike Lee Joint", can't it just be called a project? 643935 A joint is a song, I have no clue why Spike Lee calls his movies joints, maybe he's smoked too many of them over the years.
December 28, 200421 yr its slang. whats the problem? 643939 Well I know know it's a song which makes even less sense. It's not like Song is big word that you would shorten. Hell, it's shorter than joint. I was just wondering.

I just didn't get what marijuana had to do with a song. Whatever.

December 29, 200421 yr 96-69 in the 4th. Tony Parker already with 29. 644078 Is this song supposed to say "World Premiere" in it? I think I have a bootleg ass download.

I just didn't get what marijuana had to do with a song. Whatever. 644073 It most likely originates from songs that were about marijuana or sometype of drug, or written by Mary Jane afficionados such as Snoop or Dre, and the name just stuck. Since many people passionately counter rap's musical significance at all, it's easier to just call it a joint and make everyone happy than call it a rap song and tick off people who think everything has to sound like Stairway to Heaven to be a song.
December 29, 200421 yr Author Actually I think the term "joint" refering to a song started the same way as the term "dope" refering to something as cool, it's more or less a way to conteract the negative meaning of "joint" and "dope" when talking about drugs by making them terms of endearment towards a good song or something cool.
