July 12, 200323 yr exactly xx* days and x* hours ago on the xx* of june. Brad Penny got shelled against the Mets and this board was all over him (including myself.) I remember the board saying things like "[brad] Penny shows no emotion and is out there trying to get traded. He doesn't even care if he wins he throws the same pitch over and over again and when it gets rocked he doesn't care at all." well what has changed? Was I wrong? Well we all know that I can't be wrong. So in this humble message boarders opinion Brad Penny has done a 180 degree turn around. He gave up a grand slam and the look on his face was what everyone (besides for Ramp and a few others) said was missing. He looked...well for lack of a better word...p***ed off. He seem to care, and did anyone else notice that he threw more than just the fastball? So my question for this board to discuss. Do you think fighting jack got threw to him? or do you think BP has just been on the last couple games and when he is on he cares and mixes it up and when he is off he just shrugs it...well...off? *- I really don't know the dates of the start when this discussion took place.

I think that Bullpen quote really ticked off Penny and lit a fire in him. Even though I question some of Mckeon's calls he sure gets all he can out of his players.
July 12, 200323 yr Penny has a lot to prove for me. I know that is harsh, but he does not play up to his potential. He wins a game and everything is ok? This guy should have some guts and try and win all the time - I know that is easier said than done. But if it really took McKeon to light a fire under Penny's a$$, we should trade Penny immediately. Great players are self-motivators, they dont need someone to hold their hand. Penny has yet to realize that. :banghead
July 12, 200323 yr Author I would like to add that the Brad Penny that played pitched against the mets xx days ago could eat poop and get traded for all im concerned; however, the Brad Penny that pitched the last two games could get a raise.... i pose a new question... does anyone think that Penny has an evil sucky twin with an attitude? He pops up every now and then to tick off everyone and the real Brad breaks out of the ropes that evil Brad (lets call him Brad II) has him tied up in down in the basement of Brad II's trailor in Guymon Oklahoma*? *-this is where i played college baseball and definatly where many oklahomies' evil twins are from... lol -note: Im drunk!

July 12, 200323 yr Jack has been riding Brad's a$$ pretty hard for about two months. He went so far as to say either Penny or Pavano might be headed to the bullpen. For a guy with ego like Penny's that had to be the ultimate wakeup call. Brad almost lost us this game with his hot head. I'm sure Jack will talk to him about it. But that said, he otherwise pitched great and deserves credit for not having a complete meltdown.
July 12, 200323 yr Author Ramp, this is your ultimate chance to use your "how does crow taste line again." I was one of the main ones whom said that Penny sucked. even though sometimes he does, but hell if he stays fired up will be a HUGE part in our Wild Card run.
