Tough, I don't think Cobb gets enough credit because he didn't hit that many homers but in his age he was easily the best power hitter:

Mantle was one of the best hitters ever in his prime, probably top 3 only behind Ruth and Williams.

 

Mays is the best all-around player ever if all factors are even.

 

I guess I'd have to go with Mays or Cobb, Mays probably because doing what he did in a later era is a little more impressive...

 

You can't go wrong with either.
