This is it, for all the marbles. The winner of this poll, lasting until Friday Night, will be crowned Best Artist of All Time by the voters of MarlinsBaseball.com .

In the modern corner, we have:

Michael Jackson

Though his reputation now is taking a beating, there is no denying who was the King of Pop in the 1980's. His style revolutionized music, taking it a completely new level. He also almost singlehandidly made the music video industry what it is today with just one epic, 15 minute clip for the song 'Thriller'. His genius for songwriting and beat making is unparalleled since he left the scene, with no one being quite able to match his greatness since he departed the industry.

And in the classic corner, we have:

Elvis

The King himself. Though he too suffered at the end of his career, going from the young King of Music to a much larger shadow of his former self, no one can deny Elvis' imprint on the music industry. No name might be larger than his, and he still to this day tops many greats in sales year in and year out. Elvis took rock and roll, which had been just another genre lost in the shuffle of the radio, and turned it into the craze that paved the way for such greats as Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N Roses, Pearl Jam, and anyone else who has ever picked up a guitar and played rock and roll.

MJ

A musical genius.

Michael Jackson

as much as i love MJ, without Elvis, there would be no MJ. the guy did it all when no one else did. singing, songwriting, dancing, acting. and he also led a life of decadence before anyone else did. a pioneer in every single way.
