Oregon also refers to it's home court as "The Pit"....I believe it's the oldest arena in college basketball and is another brutal place to play at. Mabdul Doobakus
I think I speak for the rest of the Cameron Crazies, when I say that we don't care. We don't care what people are doing elsewhere, or how UNC grads or anyone else feels about us. Are we nerds? Yeah, that's the idea...we're some of the proudest and most jubilant nerds you'll ever know. A lot of the UNC fans like this guy used to be "too cool" to fully embrace their team, but I know that over the last few years, their fans have started to get into it too, so good for them. It's true that back in the 80's the Cameron crowds were a lot nastier, but Coach K began to ask us to cut some of that crap out, and we've obliged. It's a family-friendly setting. We don't include obscenities in our chants (like Maryland), or on our shirts (like Maryand), or throw things at visiting fans (like Maryland). But I still don't know of a louder or more intimidating crowd. (Having never seen Iowa State of New Mexico)

And if anybody is "too cool" to fully embrace their team, then it's not REALLY their team....

Ramp
(Having never seen Iowa State of New Mexico) 682227[/snapback] Duke is probably more intimidating(atleast their teams are).... those are just 2 of the tougher places to play in the country
Passion
OK, let's get this out of the way right up top. Yes, I am a North Carolina grad. Thats when I dont need to read anymore. Cameron has fallen off since Id say '00 when it was at its collective peak... But that game last night was hella loud...and had some creative stuff I thought...plus, no opponent ever comes away from that place and isn't impressed and applaudes that crowd. No other crowd is probably scrutinized as much as Cameron, so they will perhaps never live up to their billing... Alot of that (I may get drilled for this) is because of the tightening of academics requirements that may have taken some more of the rowdies out of the school. I think that has alot to do with it. But Craig, as your Anti-Duke hunt continues across this world wide web....just remember everytime the "Orange Krush" bobs up and down and says "Ohhhhhhh" (like countless others)...they have Duke to thank. Or when they chant "airball" they have Duke to thank as well. My crowd superlatives: Loudest: Kansas, The Phog Crudest/Funniest: Maryland (More so the old Gym) Innovative: Duke, Cameron Overall: Kentucky, Rupp
Guest Juanky
Best: Belen Jesuit, Miami FL Ok, so we were a high school and it was only my senior year. Colleges, however, should really think about adopting some of our chants, signs, and other happenings. We were beyond nasty and amazing.
