February 24, 200521 yr 02/24/05 4:54 PM To the Honorable Jeffrey D. Kottkamp: Hello Mr. Kottkamp, my name is CapeFish and I live in Cape Coral. I recently heard you were ill and am e-mailing you to find out the status of your health. I hope you are doing quite well and that your family is as well. When I saw the report on NBC 2 I was shocked to see the severity of your illness. As we enter 2005, I as a Floridian and a baseball fan, support my home team in their on-the-field and off-the-field endeavors. My Florida Marlins look pretty good for 2005 with Carlos Delgado, Mike Lowell, Miguel Cabrera, Josh Beckett, and the rest of the team gearing in to make a run at their third World Series Championship since the team's birth in 1993. I was wondering what your stance, thoughts, questions, and concerns about the new Marlins Ballpark State Tax Rebate were. I believe that an area like ours is unique and blessed to have a high standard-of-living and that sports are a key factor. Not everyone can claim to be within a 2.5 hours drive of 2 Major League Baseball franchises. I hope you and your well and that your health improve. I also hope that 2005 keeps those pesky hurricanes away. Our area has rebounded nicely from Charley and hopefully people have learned their lessons about Hurricanes. Sincerely, CapeFish My name is replaced by the CapeFish obviously. Let's see how soon he responds. He sends birthday cards to everyone in the house of age like clockwork, so let's see how soon he responds.

February 24, 200521 yr Yes, in Lee County. 694649 Oh, that makes sense. People are so much more cordial and friendly over there. Government officials must be much less controversial than over here.

I work with the Senate Minority Leader (a little research will lead you to who that is). I don't know his stand, being that we are extremely pre-occupied with another "little" land matter we've got brewing in PB County.
February 24, 200521 yr Cape Nice letter. I know Jeff and didn't know he was ill. What is the nature of his illness? He used to be a lawyer at one of my former firms. Let me know what you know. THanks.

Anyway, I can't reveal the identity of my family member! I think that goes along the line of exploitation or something...
February 24, 200521 yr Talking about Scripps? Anyway, I can't reveal the identity of my family member! I think that goes along the line of exploitation or something... 694669 Yup. Gotcha on the "family" thing. As I said, I don't know what his position is since we don't talk about that stuff. Maybe sometime while we're shooting the breeze in his office, I'll ask him. I don't think he'll oppose it, though. Plus, my State Senator is also a good buddy of mine (gave enough to his campaign!). I may ask him also.
