JUPITER, Fla. -- Marlins first baseman Carlos Delgado was scratched from the lineup on Thursday with a sore left wrist. He is listed as day-to-day. It would have been the Spring Training home debut for Delgado, who went 0-for-2 in the Marlins' 4-2 loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday in Vero Beach. Damion Easley got the start for Florida at first base. Delgado will not make the trip to Fort Lauderdale on Friday to face the Baltimore Orioles. March 3, 200521 yr Author AP picked it up: Marlins' Delgado Sits Out With Sore Elbow By Associated Press Posted March 3 2005, 2:00 PM EST JUPITER, Fla. -- Carlos Delgado was forced to postpone his spring training debut with the Florida Marlins because of tendinitis in his left elbow. Delgado sat out Thursday's game against Baltimore, and his status is day to day. He saw a doctor Wednesday and said the ailment isn't serious. "It bothered me a little bit before I came to camp," he said. "I'm just trying to be smart. I'd rather take a couple of days off in March than a couple of weeks off in April." Delgado said the elbow hasn't bothered him before. The former Toronto slugger signed a $52 million, four-year contract in January. He last played Tuesday in a practice game against the University of Miami.
