Religion I have no problems with. Religious Zealots on the other hand I do have a big problem with.
March 26, 200521 yr faith in God or faith in good? Im of the opinion that God does not ask you to treat him like a king but to treat all other men like kings as you would want to be treated like one too. The Golden rule. A man who does not believe in God at all but follows the Golden rule should go to salvation before a man who ardently believe in God but treats his fellow man badly.

However, liberals like to use this to say that how can a christian be against welfare and other govt programs for the poor. This is an easy answer of course b/c I personally may believe that helping the poor will lead to salvation, so ill do it, but govt should not force anyone to help the poor or otherwise. Thats govt imposing their will on us, its as bad as if govt said we all had to be baptists. Both are encroachments of freedom.
March 29, 200521 yr LoC the majority of religious people in this country don't believe in faith + works, so the poor would suffer without a forced donation. I admit I cannot back this statement up with hard fact, but the nature of people makes the conclusion easy. Do you think the poor would suffer without government aid? Would their lot improve?
