IMO betting on the game is worse cause when you take steroids yea your cheating but the one your really hurting is yourself with fake stats and hurting your body...when you bet on baseball your spitting on the game and everybody in it...especially the old timers that worked so hard to keep this game going and made it what it is today...

Betting leads to betting on your own team which leads to fixing games to regain losses which throws the entire game in doubt. No longer is it a sport, no longer is it something fans can cling to its every play knowing that it might be the difference in their team coming away with a win or a loss. It just becomes just another entertainment option, like a music concert.

 

Steroids is a single player's conditioning his body to perform at what he believes is its peak performance. Its impact on wins and losses is marginal, and in no way disturbs the very factors that all sports rely on: unpredictability and competitiveness.

i think steroids are worse pending circumstance ... as long as there is no price fixing or betting on your team going on then there isn't as big of a problem

Betting, easily. Steroids are also bad, but people can either get better or worse. Betting, you intentionally ruin the integrity of the game. Steroids may do so too, but look at what happened to Jeremy Giambi and Jason, both did well for a few years and went down the shitter thereafter. Bonds was already a great player before he took them.

Better that your team will loose is the worst thing. One of the members of the Douglas math team did that at nationals last year. There's nothing wrong with betting your team will win though.

 

However it can't be stressed enough that steriods are cheating big time.

Betting on the game. Steroids is a close second. However, players that may only have taken steroids once in their career, such as Benito Santiago, don't have much effect on the game itself.

I pick steroids because I believe that steroid users that break records like Bonds and McGuire mess it up for the really hard working players like Mays and like Babe Ruth.

Betting is wrong, in pretty much every form. However if you bet on your team winning isn't that just more incentive for you to perform better?

 

Steroids only are on one player but they, like betting, can directly affect the outcomes of games. Also, baseball is the sport that most keeps it's records hallowed, however those days might be gone now.

Steroids. Youre harming yourself and being untruthful. Sooner or later the word gets out (see:Barry Bonds) and you have some explaining to do. Betting is bad but its an "okay, shame on you, but moving on..." Steroids has its side effects, social or physical.
