Posted July 23, 200321 yr Is it true Erich Crouch quit NFL again?iI just heard and I figure you should know the latest.
July 23, 200321 yr Yep. Monday Night he walked into Mike Shermans office and said he was leaving camp for "Personal Reasons" "Personally" I think its cuz he knew Criag Nall and Doug Pederson were gonna be our backups. But Akili Smith has an outside shot. Also for anyone who needs Packers Training Camp Updates I am in Green Bay until August 2, attending Packers Camp and seeing the great sites that are "Packerville". I will be sure to keep you all updated on the latest NFL news as it breaks out. NBA news I'll try to stay on top of. But football is my first passion.

July 23, 200321 yr Well its really hard to say. Because I only saw him from Saturday through Monday. And never got to see him go up against Nall, Smith, or Pederson. But what I saw from Crouch, was sloppy. But thats mainly attributed to the fact that Sherman runs one of the more complicated West Coast offenses and it takes normally a year for someone to grasp it. Craig I believe has had the best showing of the backups so far. He looks like he could be Favres heir. He has a great arm. He has size similar to Favre. And he will be going into his 2nd year under Favres tutelage. Nall could be very good. Pederson is obviously a savvy veteran who has been our backup for years. Pederson I think should be our 3rd QB. Nall should be our 2nd. Pederson understands the system. Pederson is smart and doesnt force throws or make bad decisions. Akili Smith looks very good also. But the fact that he was signed in mid June and doesnt quite grasp the system yet hurts him. But he has a better feel for it in a shorter amount of time then Crouch did. Smith has all the physical tools. 6-2 about 220 pounds. Similar size to Favre and Nall. He has a great arm. And great mobility for a QB. He is our fastest QB on the roster. If he can grasp the system and get a year or 2 of learning under Favre..... look out. Smith could prove he is worth the pick that the Bengals used. But Nall or Smith. If either of them learn from Favre. Look out. Green Bay should be very good even when Brett leaves. But thats a year or 2 down the road and is too far for me too look down for now. But I'll grade these guys from 1-10, 10 being perfect, 1 being pathetic.... Nall- 7.5 Pederson- 7 Smith- 6.5 Crouch- 4

July 23, 200321 yr Well you probably didn't sign Akili because you guys found your starter in the sometimes good, sometimes bad Brian Griese. Smith definitely benefits by being signed by an offensive team like the Pack. Being under Favre, Sherman, Rossely (coordinator), Bevell (QB Coach), will most definitely help Smith.
July 23, 200321 yr Minus if you don't want to do a Daily Fins update, you don't have to. I was just suggesting it because I think it would be a very interesting thing to do.

Actually nothing special about Griese and not too excited about.Griese Arm strength is worst than Fiedler and that something fans down here quickly find out during QB schools.Griese whole career is base one 10 game season and rest of his stats are nothing to rave about. The past two year his TD/INT ratio is horrrible.I actually prefer signing Akili since he will be cheaper and make him compete with Sage Rosenfels but hey Im'm not the GM.Only way Griese takes a snap if Fiedler is injured.
July 23, 200321 yr Even though Wanny and Norv both say Fiedler is the starter. I just feel that Griese is the starter. Ask my boy Wild Card about me and his discussion of your starting QB situation! Griese is your QB of the future. But I also think Fiedler is way overrated.

Actually Fiedler is way underated but I'm not surprise to hear this from someone who doesn't follow the team when some Dolphins fan still hate him and Sage Rosenfels is the future of the Dolphins. Here another prediction that if Jay Fiedler stays healthy,he will be a probowler or put up stats that compared to Probowlers.
July 23, 200321 yr I'm not touching this. All I will say is, I've seen Fiedler play many many times. I saw him in Minnesota. I saw him play and get hurt in Green Bay last year. And I flew to Miami during a school break to see him play the Pack. A game in which the Pack went up 20-0 and lost 28-20 :mischief2 :banghead (PLEASE dont bring that game up or i start to get mad and shake)

Ray Lucas = Scrub His favorite receiver was throwing at ground.
July 23, 200321 yr Author Actually before injury Fiedler was on pace to have 27 Td's to 16 Int's and not including rushing Td's.Jay Fiedler also was leading all QB's in third down conversion. The Dollphins were 5-1 and looking pretty much unstopable until Jay went down for six weeks and he wasn't the same coming back for the last three game after surgery.
July 23, 200321 yr Didn't Fiedler get hurt against the Packers in like midway through the 2nd quarter?
July 23, 200321 yr Author Didn't Fiedler get hurt against the Packers in like midway through the 2nd quarter? No that was Ray Lucas and Jay Fiedler was out with a fracture thumb after Denver game which was sixth game of the season.
July 23, 200321 yr Didn't Fiedler get hurt against the Packers in like midway through the 2nd quarter? Yea, Fiedler was already out. Lucas was replacing him. And then Lucas got hurt...
