It's rare and it's numbered to Jeter's jersey number, so that makes it valuable. Price is a bit steep, but can't say it's obscene considering the 1/1 cards pretty much are worth whatever someone is willing to pay...

That is true... I much rather get Jeter's autograph in person than buy it for over $1,000..... plus... you can get 2 nice Jeter pieces by steiner for $1000

1/1 cards aren't what they used to be. These days, companies will number a card 1/1 and then reprint the same card with a slightly different color or slightly different foil and call that one a 1/1 as well. Upper Deck is notorious for doing this, this is why UD 1/1 cards tend to have a lower book value than Topps and 1/1's from other companies.
