Flying_Mollusk
Nice job Saban. Held tight to his guns and the Chefs flinched first. Fins should thank the Texans who gave up a second and third for Buchanan. Wouldl have been nice for the fins to get that. Now trade down and get more pics! Guest Fritz
I'm sad he's gone, but this does give us a bit more flexibility. Now if we can trade down from #2, I'll be happier than a pig in mud.
Beinfest4Prez
Great job by Saban to free up money and to regain a good draft pick.
Guest Fritz
We also swapped 5th rounders with the Chiefs.
Flamarlins3
Good job Saban in holding out and getting what you want for it. 3 picks in the first 70...hopefully can add 1 or 2 more
Flying_Mollusk
It all depends on what the 49ers do. If they take Smith, teams want Edwards and one rumor has the Redskins giving us both their #1s for Edwards. If they take Edwards, Bucs might trade up for Smith. Theyve offered teh 49ers their #5 overall and a 3rd rounder apparently.
Shaq-Man
since i was curious, i went and looked it up: the second round pick we get is #14 (#46 overall). in the fifth round, we swapped our #2 (#138 overall) for their #26 (#162 overall). MarlinsContinueTo ShowDomi
The Dolphins need the draft pic, so its a good deal.
Fish Tank Frenzy
The Dolphins need the draft pic, so its a good deal. 751513[/snapback] They dont need the draft pick, they needed to clear cap space. If it wasnt for needing cap space, the Dolphins never trade their best CB for a 2nd round pick.

Seems like a stretch but here it is: http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sport...ll/11458205.htm I have a feeling Saban is playing this brilliantly. Playing the teams off of each other and even sitting on his bluff if he has to. If the 9ers take Smith, I think he lets three teams fight it out for Edwards and if they call his bluff, he drafts Edwards (arguably the best player in the draft) anyway. If the 9ers take Edwards, he pushes Smith around and likely to Tampa for the best possible offer and moves down only 3 spots and gets at worst a third rounder out if it. At 3 he could take Willaims or Brown if he wants. Tommorow is going to be a lot of fun regardless.
Mabdul Doobakus
If so many teams want Edwards, we're better served picking him, and then trying to get the best deal. Until we actually have him teams will be skeptical that we're bluffing, and that will drive down the price they're willing to pay.
Guest Fritz
I am about 55% sure the Fins will trade down with the Vikings.
Dodge
I don't want the Skins to do that - nothing against Edwards.
MarlinFan10
Matt Roth for Patrick Surtain would've have been a better trade if the Dolphins got a lower round pick to go with it. :confused

If it wasnt for the Salary Cap there is no way you trade a top 5 CB in the NFL for a 2nd round pick.
