It's time Marlins fans. It's time to unite against the state Senate. It's time to unite against Wayne. The time to act is now. Major League Baseball in South Florida is nearing the brink. We all must get off our asses, or we may never again experience baseball in South Florida. A horrible and sad thought it is. We need a ballpark.

 

We have a weekend series coming up. Big crowds will show up. I know it might be to late for the Senate but we can voice our opinion to Loria, the city and county. I want all of the members on this site to go to the game. I don't care what you have scheduled at least go to one game next weekend. But don't go just to watch the game. Go to voice your opinion. Make posters, a petition, anything and take to the game. I want to hear 30,000 chant "Wayne sucks" or "We want a stadium". I want to hear it loud and clear on FSN and 560. I want Baseball Tonight to mention it. We need tons of attention. I trust anyone that goes tries to start a chant in their section, so we can start a chain reaction. (Posters make great megaphones) Forget whether the fan next to you is a bandwagoner or true fan, just ask them to please chant. We need to make noise, at the stadium, at home, at work, on the streets, at the mall, everywhere.

 

The Marlins need us to step up as fans. So make sure you do your part in this quest for a ballpark.

I am not sure why the Marlins just don't offer to give some ownership of the club (i.e. bring in additional partners) to a couple of millionaires for some significant financial investment in the club. I dunno... say $30 MILLION! (Does anyone know what the Marlins are worth and how much Loria owns?) I am sure they could restructure the partnership in such a way that Loria remains majority owner and they could get extra money for the stadium from a couple of investors. I get the feeling that this is probably what the club will do if they fail to get funding from the state.
