Posted May 19, 200520 yr May 18, 2005 - JUPITER, FL- After taking the opening game of the series, the Jupiter Hammerheads dropped the final three to the Dunedin Blue Jays. Jupiter lost in the series finale today by a final of 11-1 before an Education Day crowd of 3,358 at Roger Dean Stadium. Hammerheads starter Jeff Gogal fell to 2-2 on the year, after allowing 10 runs on 10 hits in five plus innings. Kurt Isenberg improved to 4-2 on the season for Dunedin after going 7 innings, allowing only 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 8. Tim Spooneybarger, still on the comeback trail for the Florida Marlins, pitched the 8th inning for Jupiter. Spooneybarger had a rough go of it, allowing 1 run on 3 walks and a hit batsman. Spooneybarger retired only 1 of the 5 batters he faced. He threw 22 pitches, only 7 of which were strikes. After loading the bases on 2 walks and a hit batsman, he walked Eric Arnold to bring in another run for Dunedin. The Hammerheads will try and rebound when they travel to Ft. Myers for a four game set with the Miracle beginning tomorrow at 7 p.m., when they will have their ace James Russ on the hill. c/o Jupiter Hammerheads.com Somewhat of a minor setback I guess... May 19, 200520 yr Gonna need some more time to work on his control. But, at least, he's re-gaining his arm strength and back in overall shape.
