Willingham Update

Featured Replies

Willingham continues to hit well, going 3 for 3 in the game last night. In the 2nd inning he was hit by a pitch and came back to the plate in the 3rd to hit his 11th homerun of the season. Sears, batting after Willingham, was also hit by a pitch leading to the pitchers ejection. Isotopes manager Dean Treanor was also ejected, but I have no idea why Treanor got himself tossed.

Willingham current numbers: :thumbup

AVG .314%

OBP .447%

SLG .686%

HR 11

RBI 33

In other news, Isotope pitcher Matt Blank has been deactivated pending finalization of his contract sale to a Korean baseball team.

Good luck Matt Blank.

That was the 7th time this season Willingham has been hit by a pitch. He leads the team in that category.

FWIW: Craig Wilson, the Pittsburg Pirates OF, currently has a .296 AVG and a .436 OBP. However, he isn't hitting for power this year like he did last year. He only has hit 1 homerun this year (after 29 last year) and has a .395 SLG%.

(I think the comparison might have first come from a sports writer not a scout, but I could be wrong)

"I think Willingham could be a Craig Wilson-type in the majors." NL scout :thumbup
