June 1, 200521 yr OK, I just posted earlier about how Google is just on fire in the stock market. I am a huge Google fan. But when i tried to advertise with adwords, I got turned down saying I was selling counterfeit goods, which I am not. Look at the site and disclaimer and it proves it. The problem is that there are alot of companies advertising on Google that sell what I sell. Here is my emails and the responses so far:Google=RED Me=BLUE Original Message Follows: ------------------------ From: yenyob@gmail.com Subject: ad rejected Date: Tue, 31 May 2005 13:07:46 -0000 I have to say I'm dissapointed with Google. I am a small business that is looking to bring traffic to my site and my ad was rejected because you claim I am selling counterfit goods! I am not selling fake items, as a matter of fact, I have a huge disclaimer saying I DO NOT sell fakes and that selling fakes and claiming its real is illegal. It says if you are looking for authentic sunglasses to please purchase from an authorized dealer. My items are purchased legally. Nowhere on the glasses does it use a brand name or claim to be the real thing. Furthermore, when I did a search on Google for "Designer Inspired Sunglasses", the VERY FIRST advertised link on the right side of the search page was for DESIGNER INSPIRED SUNGLASSES with a link to www.anysunglasses.com. This totally unfair as they sell the same glasses I do. If you could please respond with a reason why that is allowed and mine is not would be appreciated. If a resoulution cannot be made, I would like to request my $5 fee back as I feel I am wrongly accused of something that is not true. thank you for your time. I realize you would like to know why your ad was disapproved for counterfeit or replica designer goods and why other advertisers are running on similar keywords. Please let me explain. WHY ADS WERE DISAPPROVED: Based on business considerations, it is Google's policy not to accept ads selling replica designer goods such as purses, shoes, watches, clothes, or jewelry. As a business Google must make decisions regarding the advertising we accept. As stated in our Terms and Conditions*, we reserve the right to exercise editorial discretion when reviewing AdWords ads created within the program. This only concerns our advertising and in no way affects the search results we deliver. Google offers broad access to content across the web without censoring results. OTHER ADVERTISERS RUNNING ON SIMILAR KEYWORDS: Our AdWords Specialists review all of the ads in our program. However, ads may run on Google before we check them. Therefore, you may see some ads appear for a short time on Google that do not comply with our guidelines. We assure you that we are working diligently to apply the same criteria to all of our ads. REFUND: Google AdWords is designed to give you the power to manage all aspects of your account, including pausing and deleting your campaigns and/or canceling your account. Per the Google AdWords program Terms and Conditions,* you are responsible for paying the charges accrued to your account while your campaign is active. Because the $5.00 activation fee is part of the Google AdWords sign up process, we are unable to offer a refund for these charges. *You can view the Terms and Conditions here: https://adwords.google.com/select/tsandcsfinder Thank you for informing us of your concern, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have additional questions, please visit our Help Center at https://adwords.google.com/support, where you'll find answers to many frequently asked questions. We look forward to providing you with the most effective advertising available. Sincerely, Ritesh The Google AdWords Team You claim some sites still get through, but how did mine get stopped? What I find even more funny, besides a company as big as google not offering phone support, is the fact that in this correspondence the ads that accompany Gmail have DESIGNER INSPIRED GLASSES and DESIGNER INSPIRED PURSES due to our conversation! I took another screenshot of that just for proof. You know what I think? I think that these companies have alot of money invested in advertising with you and that's why they are let through. While I can only offer a small amount of money because I a small time, I get the boot. I'll be contacting all of the companies to get the real scoop...and maybe take it further. As you can tell, I am very angry, not by your email as it is very polite and to the point, but the fact that there are double standards. No, I don't believe that some "slip" through. I believe they are let through. I believe my only option, as Google is the king of advertising in my opinion, is to change the Designer Inspired to made up names. My opinion of Google has been tainted, as I once looked upon the company highly. Now I see what going public does to a company like Google....corrupt it. Bobby Yacuzzo
June 2, 200521 yr That really sucks..They should let you advertise there. No reason not to let you...
June 2, 200521 yr I added you to my links page... http://www.baseballjunkies.com/links.htm Not that it'll ever mean anything or bring any traffic to your site, but it's worth a try.
June 2, 200521 yr Google Sucks I no longer use them as my default search engine. They gave me so much grief over my sites. Love Blogger, but the search engine and G-Mail suck.
