June 2, 200521 yr LaTroy Hawkins, making his second appearance for the Giants, gave up a pinch-hit grand slam to Chase Utley in the bottom of the eighth tonight. Hawkins, who entered the game with the score tied at six apiece, gave up a single to Pat Burrell to start the inning and then walked Tomas Perez. After a David Bell sacrifice, Jason Michaels was intentionally walked to load the bases. Mike Lieberthal lined out but Utley delivered a grand slam into the seats in right field. Hawkins won't be closing games for the Giants any time soon, but manager Felipe Alou has to be counting on him to help set-up closer Tyler Walker. Jun. 1 - 10:46 pm et rotoworld.com jeez
