When the hell IS Spooneybarger going to come back? I'm reading somewhere that his rehab assignment is over, and it has to be at least 60 days since he was placed on the 60-day DL, so I'm done with the speculation and the "what could be's". Either play him or cut him loose.

You don't cut a 25-year old potential closer.

Besides he's not hurting us on the 60-Day DL.

The latest setback, while perhaps not expected, probably wasn't a huge surprise. This surgery is very tough to come back from and it takes time. I think he will be back in the majors, perhaps this year. But a lot will depend on how long the Marlins remain in the race. They're not likely to take a chance on him if they're in competition and he's less than 100%. By the same token, if he's pitching well in the minors and can help the bullpen, adding a strong Spooneybarger would be like making a trade.

Yeah, but all of you are talking like he's the next coming and what he WILL do and what we WILL be as opposed to what we ARE and where he IS. Besides, I also read his velocity has really dropped.

And I'm also forgetting the part where we need him, say, NOW!
