I really can't see him with a long-term future at catcher.

 

Tonight Oklahoma stole 4 bases on him and he committed a catcher interference error.

I gotta agree with that, I don't know why they're playing him strictly at catcher in AAA. It doesn't make sense to me.

If he shows he can catch every day and still hit, he becomes a valuable commodity in the trade market prior to the July 31st date. After all, Piazza wasn't the world's best, but he could certainly hit. If a Marlin is traded, you also have a utility player who has been playing every day ready to step up. It doesn't make sense to move him up to sit on the pine; he has to play. At this rate his numbers will be better than Dillon's last year. He can definitely hit, that's a given.
