I was just looking at our schedule and I realized that we've got a tough road with 33 of our next 50 on the road.....We've been home essentially all season but it's comin back to haunt us now. I know we've got a lot of home games and a nice 13 game homestand coming...The pitching has gotta be solid.

The schedule is really screwed up this year. Extended home and road trips for a number of teams. That alone could kill some teams' chances and might explain some of the streakiness. They need to find another company to create next year's schedule.

Perhaps Leiter will work himself back into the rotation on the road. It seems he only pitches well away from Dolphin Stadium.

At least the Marlins will have plently of home games the peak part of hurricane season comes. :plain

Yeah, they used to have a family that did the schedules and this is the first year that family doesn't do them (all because they were upset the Cards-Cubs didn't play after July 20th at all).

They were also not renewed because the large amount of 2-game series and double-repeaters (the same schedule in reverse a week later).

 

Good riddance.

This weird road swing is shared by all NL teams thanks to the interleague scheduling of all AL teams now having home field advantage.

 

Still, very very weird scheduling with regard to what seems to be two weeks home, two weeks on the road.

The Phillies have quite the opposite of us...seems like 33 of their next 50 are at home....

not good, but we put ourselves in this situation. We should have a 5 game lead on the division as a buffer for this long road period.

In the end it all evens out. The Marlins should have taken advantage of being at home for more games so far but they haven't. So now they have to suck it up and go on the road and win.
