Posted June 14, 200519 yr alot of you were saying he was and were going to be nothing but a long reliever pitcher,i dont want to jinx him but let's be honest and admit that you were one of them.He has been better than pavano last year maybe a push cause pavano was real good too. Meanwhile there is a rumor that there will be a fire sell in the yankees and sheffield might go to the scrubs, anyone heard something????
June 14, 200519 yr Which one? There had to be a half-dozen of them over the past 2 years. I definetly remembering starting one. Dude worked hard, developed another pitch and turned himself over to the coaching staff. Great!
June 14, 200519 yr Last season, we were worried about D-Train because he was very inconsistent, one start he'd come in and pitch a CGS then come out the next start and give up 8 ER, we never knew if the good or bad D-Train was going to show up and this only reinfoced the notions of Dontrelle being our closer of the future after the 2003 WS. D-Train could very well be the most dominant closer in baseball and I still believe that later on in his career he will be relegated to closing duties.
June 14, 200519 yr TRUE, let's just enjoy the ride. Reason for Dontrelle inconsistency can only be what many major leaguers call a softmore slump, ;-).
