I see a good amount of fans looking for Jack's head. I don't agree with it, but I would understand if the FO takes action since this team is under-performing.

But what would be the PR implication of a move like this? (remember, we need a stadium and public opinion will play a role on the politicos). The majority of fans are not hard core and probably don't see Jack as the problem.

Remember, Jack is a great story and what he did in 03 shocked the world. He is charimastic and well liked down here in South Florida.

In addition, What about local boy Lowell and fan favorite Pierre? I don't think they are going anywhere, And if they are moved, it won't be to get something to compete but a salary dump move.

Are the FO hands tied?

You make a good point there, but right now Lowell and Pierre aren't satisfying the fans or hitting.

Personally, I think Lowell has to go. They never should've signed him last year because they should've seen this coming. His power was withered away from the second half.

Right now they have to get someone with power (25-30) that can drive in runs (80-100) and have a respectable average (.270).

This isn't going to be easy to get and we might have to sacrifice some good prospects for whoever that is.

Just to throw a name around: Ken Griffey Junior.

And don't give me that "doesn't get along with Jack" crap.

Whenever I think about firing Jack, I think "What about the fans that loved him in '03? Is there going to be a public backlash of that move?"

I agree. You can't ditch any of them. He is almost as much of a gimmick as Billy the Marlin. The old man with the cigars leading the Marlins. JP and Lowell are the Marlins faces as well. The team is solid yet slumping, let's chill out. Fire a scapegoat like Robinson and ditch Enc and life should start to at least feel better.

The biggest backlash will probably be in the national media. They are already talking about it. Jim Rome was saying that maybe Jack got lucky and caught lightening in a bottle in 2003 and there really isn't anything else he can do about it this year and the fans down in South Florida don't see it that way either. Jim Rome is an idiot but that will be the general impression of the national media. Everyone will be saying that it isn't the managers fault and whatnot. I think it should be up to the players. If they are unhappy with their manager then let him go. The fans really shouldn't have much to say about it.

I agree, the National media will side on Jack's side

Winning heals all wounds.

.....and it doesn't look like we'll be doing much of that anytime soon.
