Who has been the biggest bust?

Featured Replies

Which one year wonder has been the biggest bust?

Adrian Beltre: $64 million contract -- .253, 5 HR, 31 RBI

Carl Pavano: $40 million contract -- 4-6, 4.69 ERA, .310 BAA, leads majors in hits allowed

Beltre, but I think Carlos Beltran deserves an honorable mention.

Beltre, and I knew both would do bad this season.

I don't know what it was about Beltre, but I knew he was going to be a 1 year wonder. I knew he wasn't going to have a good season this year, or atleast that his performance wasn't going to be worth 64 million.

And I think Pavano is going to have another good year, if he gets off the of Yankees. He's inept to cope with all the pressure. He needs to be on a small market baseball team, preferably the Marlins. And yet, he plays in a hitters ballpark, has an immense amount of pressure, hasn't been getting as much run support as he should, and he still only averages about 1 run per 2 innings.

And also, Pavano has a chance to turn this season around and still be 12-9 or around there, but I highly doubt Beltre could even get his BA back to .290 or even .280

Yankee Stadium is not a hitters park.

Yankee Stadium is a better pitcher's park than Dolphins Stadium. It's middle of the pack HR wise. :thumbup

Beltre, the guy knew he wasn't going to have another year like the one he had so he took the money and ran, smart fella
