ESPN take on willy

ESPN likes him, seems like everyone does except the fish themselves

SCOUTIN' THE MINORS: Josh Willingham failed to impress in his first trial with the Marlins last season, but if the team needs some added right-handed punch behind the plate or at first base, should anything happen to Paul Lo Duca or Carlos Delgado, the rookie might now be ready for the show. Willingham is batting .305 with 13 homers and 37 RBI in 38 games for Triple-A Albuquerque, but most impressive is his 1.131 OPS, which tops the Pacific Coast League. He'll be an excellent fantasy addition the moment he's promoted, especially if he's catcher-eligible in your league

I don't think it was his bat that didn't impress but his defense and game calling behind the plate. Pass balls, interference, not covering home plate on a force play you name a catching blunder he made it. That said I seriously doubt he is going to make his name in the majors as a catcher.
