June 29, 200521 yr Well, I'm sure everyone here that's going to watch knows Pink Floyd will be second to last and Paul McCartney will be the final act. Apparently, Bob Geldoff (concert organizer) has said some stuff about it. Pink Floyd will be playing three songs: Breathe (from The Dark Side of the Moon), Comfortably Numb (from The Wall), and Wish You Were Here (from the album of the same name). If that's the order, I don't know, but it makes sense Breathe would be first even though Comfortably Numb makes more sense last. Paul McCartney is apparently going to open the show as well, coming out with U2 wearing the uniforms from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. (Picture for those who don't know what I'm talking about) After Floyd is finished, McCartney will retake the stage for a rendition of The Long and Winding Road (with no doubt in my mind that there will probably be some kind of presence from earlier acts during the finale). June 30, 200521 yr Time with the Breathe reprise would have been awesomer. Anyways, I'll be tuning in all day, Sir Paul McCartney/ U2/ Coldplay/ Pink Floyd and many others is too awesome to miss. BTW, awesome signature Juanky. That's probably Floyd's best song, but never became a huge hit because it's 25 mins.
June 30, 200521 yr Roger Waters- "to be given the opportunity to put the band back together, even if it's only for a few numbers, is a big bonus." Well, Waters is glad to be back with the band, but it doesn't seem they'll do anything after that. Hopefully, Waters will want to work more with the band afterwards.
June 30, 200521 yr BTW, awesome signature Juanky. That's probably Floyd's best song, but never became a huge hit because it's 25 mins. Personally, I still think it's Comfortably Numb. However, Shine On You Crazy Diamond is Top 3 for sure.
June 30, 200521 yr Pink Floyd members are already older than 60. It's not going to be as electrifying as when you saw them 30 years ago.
June 30, 200521 yr Pink Floyd members are already older than 60. It's not going to be as electrifying as when you saw them 30 years ago. 833507[/snapback] The Who's performance in the Concert for New York four years ago was among their finest ever, and they were just as old, if not older. Don't dismiss these guys just because of their age. We're talking about Pink freakin' Floyd here! :hat
June 30, 200521 yr This concert is going to be amazing!! And in regards to Pink Floyd reuniting, I will be very excited to connect to a band that I have long been a fan of but was never really able to experience because of my age. I predict this concert will probably make a lot more people of younger generations Pink Floyd fans but also get older fans excited too.
July 1, 200521 yr BTW, local radio stations can carry feeds from Premiere Radio if they can swallow only being about to air 1 minute of commercials an hour locally and 3 minutes overall.
July 1, 200521 yr Less than 24 hours to go :cool And who cares if they're 60 man. This is one of the top 3 bands of all time, period.
July 1, 200521 yr There's no way of knowing in advance what time the performers are scheduled to take the stage, is there?
July 1, 200521 yr Hmm, only ones I have heard of are Floyd second to last and McCartney being the finale.
July 1, 200521 yr Oh crap Well, I found an unofficial setlist on the BBC.....including a dream act I didn't expect. Not only do I get Sting playing two Police songs, but right before Pink Floyd, another reunited band will take the stage..... The Who! Source The only weird thing is that they have Money listed instead of Breathe as the Dark Side of the Moon song of choice.
July 2, 200521 yr Yeah, I heard that. Funny that I mentioned them in my reply to 'Guru yesterday... :cool
July 2, 200521 yr %&&*$@@^&!!!!! Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd and the Who!!! All's that's missing is represenatation from Zeppelin to make this thing perfect. *dies* I heard Sting will have puppets of Bush, Blair, Putin, and others and sing "We'll be watching you" What channel should I have the TV on that will definatly show Pink Floyd and the Who?
July 2, 200521 yr I know some of you can't be near the tube all day long and don't have XM...so hear is a list I will try to compile of normal affilaites. Premiere Radio Listing: Boston: WBMX-FM (98.5)/WHEB-FM (100.3) Philadelphia: WMMR-FM (93.3)
