Well the all star break is almost here and it is time to make it known.

Who is a Buyer and Who is a seller?

your thoughts folks?

Buyers

Red Sox

Yankees

Orioles

White Sox

Angels

Minn.

Washington

Atlanta

St. Louis

Padres

Sellers

Tampa Bay

Kansas City

Detriot Tigers

seattle

Blue Jays

Ciny

Brewers

Pirates

Colorado

Inbetween

Arizona

Dodgers

San Fran (say they are gonna keep all for next year)

Marlins

Mets

Phillies

Houston

Cubs (they are never sellers it seems)

Indians

Rangers

Oakland

Any thoughts folks? Who else goes to where and Why? Who you think the sellers might be offering. What each buyer is looking for. Btw, the list is off the top of my head, so if I missed anyone please say so. I will be happy to move folks to make it easier.

I'd put Dodgers in the sellers/give-up/stagnant group. I'd find it hard they'd overpay for an mid-season acquisition and some of their prospects have disappointed.

Don't know why the Blue Jays would be sellers.

If the definition of buyer is to trade for veteran help, the Cubs are buyers.

Rangers are buyers.

Tigers and Jays are not sellers

and I doubt Tampa is.... who would they move, if anyone besides Huff

I agree, Tigers just got an ENORMOUS boost with Magglio Ordonez comin back and have managed to get to almost get to .500, and the Blue Jays have been rumored to be interested in the Pirates SP Mark Redman for Eric Hinskie.

As for Tampa, I wouldn't be suprised to see Dannys Baez, Aubrey Huff, and even Julio Lugo on the trade block. (Lugo because a certain someone is lurking in the minors)

I also don't think you are going to see the Brewers as sellers either, their commitment to Ben Sheets shows that they are going to compete in the next few years, the only guy they may trade would be Lyle Overbay. But they seem to be getting things together for next year, and they have alot of talent that could be coming to the big leagues soon, should be a fun team to watch next year.

Basically this thread is telling us that All high market teams and teams over 500 are buyers and all teams under 500 are sellers. The in between teams are hovering between 500.
