so im very dissapointed about the lastest surge of movies about the same topic ... superheroes, superheroes, stories about superheroes that got tired of being superheroes and decided to call it quits but they go back because of family affairs, or kids and their pets that are about to become superheroes so they go to heroschool. dont get me wrong, i grew up with most of these superbeings and idolized them like many of you, but I think that they simply lose the magic that they once had by making them into super tight, big budget films, with cool effects and lame love stories (the movies are not bad but usually lack content) ... everything is a dumb remake

and im also tired of the fact that they are nothing but huge money making franchises. They usually have a sequel if not 3, and the video game following the movie is inevitable

did we lose our imagination?

Batman Begins was more than just a dumb comic book flick. That was a great overall movie and has nothign to do with the previous series. It was somethign that needed to be made to do justice to Batman.

Sin City was one of the greatest visual movies Ive ever seen.

Most comic book movies are going to have sequals because like the comics they represent, it is a long story. The X-Men and Spiderman franchises along with the previous two I mentioned were better movies then your normal flat blockbuster hit.

I don't think we lost imagination. It's just that most things have been done already. Every so often this happens. However, if you're looking for an original movie out there I suggest you catch Murderball. It's about quadriplegics who play rugby.

Most remakes are terrible. The fact that their was a huge surge of them this year that coincided with one of the biggest box office slumps ever does not suprise me.

unfortunatly theres nothing that can be done about it. These movies already come with such a package that makes it impossible for your avg movie goer to turn down, from monster adds, to video games and publicity beyond belief to plain crazy effects ... they are such machines of consumption

I want Woody Allen movies

and to passion ... btw batman begins had way too many holes and lose ends

Please go into details...

And if you want some good movies go rent Closer, Matchstick Men, Mystic River, The Pianist, and 61*.

What holes and loose ends?

That movie was one of the most complete movies I've seen in quite some time.

I'll tell you exactly what killed modern cinema:

Computer Generated Imagery

Sure it can look nice at times but it practically destroyed the art form in multiple ways.

:notworthy

and I still dont think it looks nice

only because you asked nicely, and this was only my perception so if there is some science or logical explanation I dont really care because its not the point that im trying to make

-why the hell did batman destroy the league of shadows palace, they were nice to him

-where did the scarecrow come from, if im not mistaken he wasnt even a direct rival of batman, and was actually an enemy of the justice league but not the actual batman ... either way where the hell did he come from

-how convinient that wayne ent. had this super high tech weapon research factory in which only one man worked at

-how his parents died ... from a really fancy theather that exits into a dark, smokey alley

... that is only the begining. the transitions between scenes didnt tie in well and a lot of details were left behind and quickly forgotten by cool gadgets of pointless fights. I was kinda dissapointed since I dig the directors previous work

... I guess its what happens when you have to make a dark movie with a PG13 rating in order to bank more money

and again im not saying it was a bad movie, but it wasnt great ... and it was surely pointless

Because they asked him to help destroy Gotham, the city he wanted to go back and help.

-where did the scarecrow come from, if im not mistaken he wasnt even a direct rival of batman, and was actually an enemy of the justice league but not the actual batman ... either way where the hell did he come from

The Scarecrow was a direct villan from batman. In the comic I believe he was a college professor who brought a gun to school one day to test his theory on fear, but he was fired. He was already a little nuts, but then he killed the administration of the university.

This was my only beef with the movie. They changed it to him being an Arkham Warden. But it was to tie him to Falcone.

-how convinient that wayne ent. had this super high tech weapon research factory in which only one man worked at

Lucius Fox is the CEO of Wayne Enterprises, I don't remember that he was the lead reserch and development leader or whatever for the company, but I thought that it made it very clear in the movie that the place were Fox worked was a warehouse where they stored all the stuff Wayne Enterprises no longer used.

-how his parents died ... from a really fancy theather that exits into a dark, smokey alley

Thats how it was in Gotham. I live in Orlando, and theres many Fancy places downtown like that theater in the movie that exists out into the worst neighborhood in town. It isn't unlikley.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here.

I could have told you that...the trailer looked horrible for it and the whole picture looked way to juvenille and flashy then gritty and interesting like Batman was...

Jessica was hot though. And thats all that matterd.

I think Fantastic 4 was great. I thought Batman Begins sucked.

Everyone has different opinions.

Batman Begins was awesome, it had 0 Hollywood stuff behind it. It was dark, intelligent, serious, and was well told as a story.

One of the best superhero movies ive ever seen aside from "Superman" and the original Tim Burton "Batman". Way better than Spiderman, in my opinion.

If you want good film making, you should stray from any movie having to do with superheroes 8 out of 10 times. These are just made solely to bring in monster bucks.
