Ricky, Ricky, Ricky...

Featured Replies

1,000 yds maybe but he will never be a star again. He will be in the league for 3 more years tops.

God I hope he gets hurt in the preseason. It will suck cheering a td that he just scored.

He can still be a productive back I'm sure. Like Rune said 1,000 yards wouldn't be out of the question, but nothing what he use to be.

If he really wants to, he can be a star. Merril Hoge said some wise things on this subject; I think I saw it in the Miami Herald. He basically said that Ricky was a different back the year before he retired. He stopped running over people, and started trying to go around people. At the time, I thought Ricky had himself confused with Barry Sanders. But Merrill's take was more along the lines of the idea that Ricky just wasn't into it anymore, didn't want to take the pounding, etc. That's probably more accurate. So, if he's going to play like that, he'll just be an okay back, maybe 4 yards a carry. But if his heart's in it, he can be the old Ricky with 5+ a carry. I don't see any reason why he can't do that if he wants to.

No one except Ricky knows how motivated he is. I like that he got his weight up so quick. That's pretty astounding, and shows he's at least committed.

I don't know if he'll ever be a hoss like he was again...no 350 carries for 1800 yards or whatever. But I think he's going to be great this year splitting carries. If it were a full season, I'd say somewhere around 200 carries for 1000 yards this year...but instead, in 12 games, let's go with 150 carries for 750 yards.

If he can get 150-200 carries and 700-800 yards, I'll be more than happy. It'll keep Ronnie that much fresher.

im a die hard phins fan...... it hurt that he left us last year. but, a man is a man and a man has gotta do what a man has gotta do......

and im not gonna blame em 4 that...... but he's back and i keep tellin my non dolphin friends......

that were gonna make the playoffs this year when we had ricky we missed the post season by 1 game now we got him and a another star in the making running back not to mention a great WR core......

we are f***ing conteders.....

truth is when he comes back in oct and rushes for like a 150 the bandwagon fan will all be on his dick and every1 will 4get what he did last year......

i still got mad love 4 ricky

Yeah Ronnie is the future, I don't see us resigning old Ricky after his contract is up... I hope we trade him for some pieces... like maybe an offensive linemen, a REAL quarterback or Draft Picks.

I think Ricky will be here one year to show that he's back... and then we trade his butt.

I'm still wondering if we ever managed to get a real offensive line.

Supposedly the OL is much improved with new OL coach Hudson Houck. Also, the line did seem to suck less as the season wore on.
