I had this idea for a baseball game. I think it's a good idea. It is a online only game because: you control nothing besides what's in the game. Aspects of the game:

 

1. You cannot enhance nor decrease any players attributes. Scouting reports provide what a players attributes should and will be.

 

2. You cannont trade/release players, since it's an online only game, your team on the game makes moves as they are made by the orginization in real time.

 

3. A complete stocked Minor League system for the promotion/demotion of players, rehab assignments, etc.

 

4. You can only play one game a day, and only during the actual MLB season(Spring Training games and postseason games as well). If your team does not play on a certain day, neither do you.

 

5. You cannot change the starting lineup, the game pulls the lineups from the internet in realtime and you take control of them.

 

6. Whatever conditions are in real life, they will be in the game (i.e. if it starts raining in the bottom of the 3rd at Pac Bell, anybody using the Giants or the team playing them, will have a rain delay as well).

 

7. A ticker at the bottom of the screen saying what your user controlled players and computer controlled oppents have done for the day, with the players ACTUAL performance from that day in parenthesis.

 

8. The ability to track the performance of your favorite teams minor leaguers, plus the addition of any draftees from the amatuer draft. Plus, detailed scouting reports of each minor leaguer.

 

9. An interface before each game played, where you can click and see batter vs pitcher splits, and the pitchers career stats against that team and in that park against that team

 

I haven't thought of anything else, but if anyone thinks it is a good/bad idea, feel free to tell me, and suggest any other thoughts. This would take a vast amount of cooperation from the MLB, MLBPA, and MiLB, and I am thinking maybe a $30-50 charge a year to play in a subscription format, because it's more than just a videogame, it's a complte information interface, with weather conditions, a listing of all umpires and where they are assigned that day(plus, I am hoping, renderings of how their K zone usually is), and you can access stats, scouting reports, and pitcher/batter and pitcher/team matchups anytime you want. Any thoughts?

Where's the fun if you can't change lineups, trade players, or do anything of the sort?
