August 15, 200521 yr Hard for me to believe Easley is hitting only around 236. Seems to me like he hits successfully more often than that. Guess I'm just an Easley fan and remember his important hits. Half-way through yesterday's game, I started wondering how many put-outs and assists Easley had. He handled a lot. Bottom-Line: It was good we had a competent fielder to give Luis a day off. And good for Jack for giving post-DL Delgado a break in the 8th and putting Conine at 1B. That helped Delgado and Conine. Now I'm anxious to see if Jack will keep Aguila fresh. Day off today is good, but it's going to be a tough stretch to the Play-Offs and Cabs and JP could benefit from an occasional day-off. And Aguila can cover for them. Jack, please keep Easley, Conine and Aguila fresh. And it might be a psychological break for Cabs to play a couple of games at 3B. (If Perry Hill has confidence in him at 3rd.) GO MARLINS. YOU CAN DO IT.
August 15, 200521 yr I'll agree with you, but I might not be a good judge because I am probably the biggest Easley fan on this board. And I am also one of the biggest Aguila fans(customizing a jersey to look like his and everything). Easley hasn't just played well at 2B, he's covered well for Mikey at 3d as well and been at least average filling in for Gonzo, but we might not give him enough love because after watching Gonzo not much else compares, so he might even be above average. Cab's going to 3B would be nice, because then it puts Aguila's bat in the lineup(hell ya!). As for Niner, he is amazing defensively at 1B and it's suprised me. Good post.
August 15, 200521 yr He's brutal in the field with a range that is limited, arm that is weaker than most secondbasemen and not particularly solid at converting chances. But, damn, every spot start he comes up with atleast one key hit.
