Posted September 6, 200519 yr I know there are a lot of members here on MB.com that go to FIU. As most of you know, i'm already in the delayed entry program for the Marine Corps and I need to finish my bachelors while i'm in the Corps. It will be virtually impossible to attend classes in person on a campus, so my only option is to take classes online. I've spent probably the past 6 months researching online degrees, online classes, etc. etc. etc. I've always had the preconceived notion that online degrees were a joke until I really began researching it and found out there is more to it than just University of Phoenix and all of those ridiculous diploma mills advertised on late night TV at 2am. I actually found lot's of legitimate colleges and universities with distance learning and online degree programs, even Harvard has some online offerings now. UF also has BSBA that is entirely online, but unfortunately testing must be done in the state of Florida. Unlike FIU, they won't allow an education officer on base to proctor any and all exams, so while i'd love to go there, UF is out of the question. I could very easily finish my degree through UoP, Capella, or one of the other large schools that are well known for being online or are well known for "adult education," and even though the degrees are the same, I don't want to attend a school with a reputation for being online and all that, i'd rather attend an established traditional university with an online program or distance education program, like FIU or UF. I'm interested in the BBA International Business degree, already got most of the general college courses out of the way locally with FAU. So anyways, I was just wondering if anyone here has ever taken courses online with FIU and how do you like it, any info you could offer me, etc. Thanks
September 6, 200519 yr I've never personally taken an online course, so I don't know what to tell you. However, of the people I know who have taken them, I have yet to hear a complaint. Not much help but the best I can do.
September 6, 200519 yr My sister recently finished her Masters in Accounting at FIU with a combo of classroom and online classes. If it weren't for FSU being the king of Meteorology schools, I would be heading to FIU for a Chemistry Major.
