The Chicago White Sox just lost their second in a row to the Royals, have lost 6 of their last seven, and their lead in the Central division is down to 4.5 over the Indians - WITH 6 games left to play between the two. The Indians also have 7 games left against KC, and 3 against TB.

It is quite feasible for this "great" White Sox team to whiff on making the playoffs altogether. And I'm going to be the first to say, IT'S GONNA HAPPEN. The Chicago White Sox are going to miss the playoffs.

 

Boston, New York, Cleveland and the Halos will march into the playoffs - leaving the best team in baseball playing golf in October.

They'll pull it together.

 

But perhaps they do tank, everyone gets upset with Ozzie Guillen, and he gets fired, making him available for the Marlins to pick up :thumbup

They play 162 games in the regular season. Being a playoff team through 161 means nothing. You need to be a playoff eligible team after all 162. However, I will go out on a limb and say, the White Sox make the playoffs.

I was being sarcastic. The beginning 3/4 of the year the only thing you would ever hear was how the White Sox were the "best team in baseball", "the best team in a long time", and "not a fluke". Now that they are slipping, I'm still going to be using the terminology with the same vigor that the "experts" did - very tongue in cheek.
