Giambi was sick the two previous years, some say due to Riod use

what does Lowell have to do with this?

Lowell was bad the previous year and a half, some say due to 'roid use (or lack thereof).

Assuming Lowell has a good '06 (pretty big assumption) he's a come-back candidate. If he wins, is it OK? But it's not OK for Giambi...right? I mean, both have the same number of positive drug tests...

two completely different cases, one is a proven roider. I have never seen any serious speculation or rumor about Lowell being on the juice ever.

So Giambi, Sosa, Brett Boone, Clemens, Pudge, Brown, Sheffield, Bonds and McGwire are all guilty until proven innocent (and even when they're "proven" innocent, it's simply explained because they're using undetectable steroids), yet Mike Lowell is innocent until proven guilty? Puh-lease, he's had a more drastic drop in production than any of the "sure" steroids users in this age of drug-testing.

Here's something to think about, look at that list, none of those guys were exactly "chummy" with the media; they were all considered loaners or intoverted people; Lowell on the other hand is loved by the local media. For those who don't know where I'm going with this, I'll be as overly simplistic as possible: players are "linked" with steroids by the local media, not by the drug-testing agencies employed by MLB. Why wouldn't the South Florida media want to speculate about Mike Lowell's obviously shady decline with the advent of drug testing? Why, it's simple! He's such a curmudgeon in the club-house when things are bad that he's always easy to get an "anonymous" quote from describing the absolute disdain felt by the player for the (now departed) coaching staff. Why would you betray the best tool you have when it comes to creating a perceived circus which in turn sells papers...as a writer you wouldn't. That is why Lowell's name hasn't been linked, and quite frankly, Mike Lowell isn't a good enough player to generate the national buzz that a guy like McGwire or Giambi did.

PS: Accord, Giambi never admitted to Congress that he used steroids, he admitted it to a Grand Jury; you or I could be on a grand-jury. What's more, the testimony was "leaked" by a member of the media, it's not part of public record, so anything reported by the paper should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm not denying he said it, because he never vehemently fought the Chronicle, but it isn't exactly the word of God we're talking about here, it's the word of a writer trying to sell papers.

The entire post you just wrote was a result of you stuffing words into my mouth that I never said except for your last paragraph. I never said any of those things you brought up in the first two paragraphs, yet you're arguing with me as if I did, what the hell?

That's why only the last paragraph was addressed to you and the rest wasn't...reading comprehension can go a long way to keeping tempers down on a board where everything is in written form.

you like to put words on people's mouth, do you?

Your argument is ridiculous, no matter how many paragraph of pointless gibberish you want to put behind it.
