February 4, 200620 yr So who do you play at SS? Andino, Amezaga or Reese? And if Reese plays SS, who plays 2B? Uggla, Amezaga or Andino? In a perfect scenario, you could let Ramirez play the whole year in the minors......but the Marlins really have limited alternatives.
February 4, 200620 yr Amezgaga at 2nd, Reese at SS...until at least mid-may, to make sure Hanley is ready.
February 4, 200620 yr Amezgaga at 2nd, Reese at SS...until at least mid-may, to make sure Hanley is ready. It's gonna be "UGGLA".
February 4, 200620 yr Amezgaga at 2nd, Reese at SS...until at least mid-may, to make sure Hanley is ready. It's gonna be "UGGLA". I think he'll be a strong backup...maybe even platoon... Then again, I've never seen him play.
February 4, 200620 yr Amezgaga at 2nd, Reese at SS...until at least mid-may, to make sure Hanley is ready. Amezaga has never been ready. His whopping .207 career average proves that.

February 4, 200620 yr Amezgaga at 2nd, Reese at SS...until at least mid-may, to make sure Hanley is ready. It's gonna be "UGGLA". What if "Uggla" isn't ready....which is a distinct possibility. I know he'll be on the roster all year, but he might be over-matched too. He might. The Marlins should really be bringing in more bodies to compete with the young players in case they just aren't ready. To throw them to the wolves could destroy them.
February 4, 200620 yr Back on topic...I don't know if Hanley is ready, but we'll all get to see for ourselves in about a month.
February 4, 200620 yr I hope he is, because the alternatives are worse at SS than they are in LF (if Willingham catches) and CF.
February 5, 200620 yr If I remember correctly, the only reason Uggla was never called up for the Diamondbacks was because their system was stacked at the 2B and SS. He was ready to be called up but it woul have been a waste of a spot. If this is true, than Uggla is capable of starting 2B for the Marlins while Reese plays SS till after the All-Star break which is when I expect Ramirez to be called up. Uggla has show he has power and can hit for a very good average.
