Just got back from Asheville, NC...so I missed our series win over Montreal...good stuff!

*The Mudcats won their best of 5 series yesterday with a 3-2 win over the Smokies in the eleventh.

*Josh Willingham had 3 doubles in the series and was the major offensive force

Heres an account of how the winning run was scored in the 11th:

With one out in the 11th, Willingham (1-for-4, R, 2B, RBI, W) stroked a slider from Josh Kinney (L, 0-1) six feet inside the left field line, two-hopping the left field wall. Aguila (2-for-5, 2R), who singled, raced around the bases as left fielder Shaun Boyd collected the ball and threw toward the relay man. Aguila churned home as the relay throw one-bounced catcher Yadier Molina, who opened his feet to surround home plate to catch the throw. Aguila, who was prepared to bowl over Molina, instead slid in leading with his right foot in between Molina's feet just before the high tag from Molina to win Carolina's first Eastern Division pennant since 1995.

*Nic Ungs pitched his second great game in a row with (7IP, 1ER, 1BB, 3K)

*The rotation for the championship game will be Trevor Hutchinson in Game One Tuesday night, followed by Todd Moser, Donnie Bridges, Ungs and David Marchbanks.

Go Mudcats!

I don't know if this was already posted, but I believe the Isotopes lost their playoff series 3-1. :(

Gee, Portland could have used them... The Sea Dogs didn't make the playoffs! That shows what happens when the Red Sox take over!
